This is the seventh part of our “Skin-Friendly Habits” series. Creating small and comforting rituals in your day to day life can be a great, simple, and quick way to take care of not only your skin but your mind as well. You can think of it as meditation. It’s a few minutes daily to focus on a specific thing and simply going through the motions while paying attention to all the sensations that arise.
This quiet time when you do your skincare can be a quiet sanctuary where nothing but you matters. Looking in the mirror and appreciating everything you see can be such a beautiful and healing process.
When you do this, you are bound to start thinking of your skincare as a way to cherish yourself instead of taking it as just another chore that is an inevitable part of your life. When you allow yourself to let go of the outside world and exist in your own little space, something magical happens - You start seeing your true beauty and appreciating it for what it is including your wrinkles and all.

Thin lines under your eyes mean you are experienced and wise. Freckles mean that Mother Nature gave you a gorgeously unique pattern to show the world your individual beauty.
At the end of the day, youth eventually fades, but beauty doesn’t have to. Real beauty comes from within and realizing that will make you more appreciative of your body, the same body allows you to experience this wonderful life.
Your beauty routine can be the time to appreciate everything you are - inside and out. Making yourself a priority for at least a few minutes a day will make it easier to share yourself the rest of the day. You are allowed to take care of your appearance, your health, and ultimately your entire being.
Creating these soothing and comforting rituals for yourself can be one of the biggest joys in life and a time to self reflect and turn inward in the midst of this fast paced world we are living in.
